I've never seen factory chamfers that wide, but that doesn't mean it's been polished. My guess is that maybe there were some slight variations back in the early- mid-'70s. Here's another 1680 said to be unpolished.
Here are 4 different examples from different reputable sources all said to be unpolished and the chamfers are as wide as mine.

The thinner chamfers are the ones I see abc and LAWW doing.

I do not know who is calling this watch unpolished Aaron, but I do know for sure that the one photo you posted does not at all indicate that watch is unpolished.

I love these "unpolished" watches with their new-style bracelets.

People will always have opinions but I feel the pictures speak for themselves. The lugs are too thick to ever have undergone polishing. Everything else on the watch like the dial the insert even the bezel are all as crisp as the case. This watch has never been polished, I have owned enough pieces to know what a re cut case looks like..

Absolutely true. Late 60s early 70s had a lot of very wide chamfers. I have an unpolished mk4 red and the beveled edges are very much the same as yours just not as pronounced. True there was variation from watch to watch back then as they were hand cut. All in all, I do believe this is an extraordinary example you have there. Also Andrew is a very knowledgeable and honest seller. Too many "experts" out there that have to put their 2 cents in, that have probably never even held an unpolished vintage sub

In any case, congrats on the buy and enjoy this watch in good health!

For what its worth, this watch was purchased from original owner. Never polished but well worn. As you can see bevels quite prominent. Now I just need to get an NOS T127 to put on it!

Thank you for the back up and for the nice words. Andrew has no reason to lie to me. If he says this watch is un-touched, I believe him and I also believe it when I look at this piece in the flesh. Typical forum drama. It is a fact that because of reasons like these, many serious collectors have told me they don't post here anymore when they get new pieces. I think I finally learned my lesson.

Thanks again for your help.

Looks nice. For reference here is a single owner example that was likely untouched.

Sweet watch. Enjoy.

Did Andrew say the watch was unpolished or untouched? To me there is a big difference between unpolished and untouched.
