The New Royal Oak Line

Well it seems like the new royal oak line is out. It still is the same 2385 caliber. I thought there was likely going to be a new in house caliber announced this year. The metal color combinations are nice. Gold with blue dial is my favorite. i actually liked having the numerals at the seconds marker. I am disappointed those were removed. These are all novelty items as well so I guess that means boutique only. Comes with gold bracelet or strap. Also steel version... Any thoughts?

Hey is this new royal oak thinner than the previous one and finally an in-house movement?

The color combo for the grey dial and blue sub dials look interesting. Hard to tell what it will look like in real life.

I like them, esp the panda dial, and nice to see the brown RG combo coming to AP now too.

It's titanium, but colour combo seems strange to me. Also used this blue and grey/black combo on the new 42.

No in-house saves $10k off retail... And they're only 11mm thick, or thin.

Love the look of this one. I hate hate chrono watches but this one I'd love to have. Blue and Grey are my favourite colours so this is just perfect for me, but I still hate chronos lol

I wonder what the weight difference will be. The fact that both the case and bracelet are titanium should really feel different

I also think if I were an AP AD I might be a bit peeved.. These will only be boutique. It may also hurt sales because less accessibility for viewing.

They look awesome to me. The dials on the titanium and ss models really pop for me. The others not so much

Titanium is kind of cool but none of them elicit a real want from me.

The titanium grey/blue is $40,900 .. wow.. quite a premium. AP claims the sub dials are larger on the new releases.

Wow, that is over $16K on top of the SS, and 3K on top of the gold on strap.

The movement is already the thinnest automatic chrono ever. Whilst an inhouse movement would be nice, it is unlikely to be thinner, so I would be quite happy with the current movement.

I think these new dials look pretty good.

Well maybe a display caseback then at least.

That would be appreciated.

Just noticed the new grey ruthenium dial RO on the website, what you guys think of this one? This is also a novelty, so boutique only edition?

I'm kind of liking the titanium chrono. I bet it will look even
better in person. Strongly considering it! Any word on a display back?

I am sure if they had a display back that would have been advertised. Since you have the gold ROC-- do think the titanium would be redundant. Not sure it is worth the price tag.

It's pretty cool but because it's boutique only and likely won't have much of a discount, its not that different price wise to the RG ROC you've got...and while its cool, its not 41k cool IMHO. Thats a RG patek 5712!

I also just noticed the blue dial RO is not listed as novelty anymore, does that mean it'd become available to buy in a normal AD?

The term novelty has no relation to any restriction on where it made available to purchase from.
It simply means new product/design, and come SIHH in 2018, and so on..., there’ll be another bunch of ’novelties’ introduced.
Which outlets get them is something the company decides prior to their reveal, but ADs attending will discuss access to them for their most valued clients.
