Omega automatic Seamaster

Hi guys!

What a fantastic and informative Forum!
I dont know if im right here. My Grandpa inherited me this classy and beautiful watch long time ago. I almost forgot the watch in the drawer. Now i'm older and solvent enough to restore it eventually. The watch is still working (you have to shake it, a battery is not necessesary). My Mum told me that this watch is the first (or one of the first) Omega automatic watches. I dont know if its true or not, cause as you see, i'm a totally rookie. I dont want to sell it, but can anyone tell me anything about this beauty, like the year it was built, name, etc.?

Sorry about my bad english, i'm from germany ;)

The model is a Seamaster.
The small second hand was just used in late 40's early 50's. So, yes an early automatic Omega.
Few different possible movements.
Omega usually puts a reference number on the inside back of the case. And a 3 digit caliber number on the movement.
Serial number would be needed to get exact year.
