How do you feel about this skeletonized Daytona?

I personally think it would look better if Jochen Benzinger got ahold of it.

Here it is: http://rover.ebay.com/rover/1/711-53...mtid=824&kw=lg

It's not as bad as I thought it would be, but still a big fat no from me.

Notice they say the dial is after market. I wonder if it started as an original dial and a guy just took out his manual drill and jewelers saw and went to town?

Go big or go home: if you have the guts to skeletonize a dial, you better do some engraving on the movement to make it look interesting. Otherwise, you get a result like the one we are seeing. Skeletons aren't for everyone, I freely admit that BUT a really attractive skeleton watch can be a thing of beauty.

Now imagine it if Jochen Benzinger did the movement and dial... Here is one example (of many) of Benzinger's skeletonization and rose engine turning and hand engraving to transform the ordinary into the extraordinary.

Here is one that actually looks a little better. I think he realized he took out too much material on the first one lol

It is pretty bad, but the other one I posted isn't as bad, is it?

Here is the link again: http://rover.ebay.com/rover/1/711-53...mtid=824&kw=lg

And here is the skeletonized DeepSea I posted in WatchOut... http://rover.ebay.com/rover/1/711-53...mtid=824&kw=lg

All from the same retailer I believe.

That is modded dial, not skeletonized, which generally refers to the movement.

IMHO, dreadful visually. He needs to take apart the movement and remove as much metal as possible and add more decoration.

Looks awful
Without skeletonizing the movement, not much can be seen from the dial side, so really no point

Some of that hand engraving looks terrible! Guy must have the shakiest hands I've ever seen. Needs another drink to even himself out!

That's a joke. Who would want that when they can get an actual skeletonized movement?
It's just horrible.
