congratulations, enjoy the new arrival. as an owner I provide my personal contribution: even if the 3861 is a beautiful piece, the workmanship of the Dial and many other details of the 321 make it truly another level. This Is Mine!

Thanks for the push! Is this thing hard to wind or is it just me? They polished the teeth on the crown too much IMO.

I find mine to be one of the easiest manual watches to wind.

Are you using the thumb forefinger method or the front of your first knuckle back and forth method?

Definitely have to use a pinch grip with clean hands. When it's empty it's easy. But I can't get anywhere near full without effort.

I wouldn't complain but it was dead at ~0730 this morning which messed with my head a bit since I picked it up at 0733 and clicked the Chrono and nothing happened. It took me a second to understand what happened since it was nearly the correct time.

I didn't fully wind it for sure on Thursday just waited until the spin back / kick back starts like I do with the VC. Did that again Friday.

After it was dead this morning I wound it until it hit the hard stop and will watch it for power reserve over the next couple days. Hairspring looks good under loupe so I think it's just pilot error.

Edit: I did some math and assuming it was dead for a few minutes at the 43.5 hr mark it means I had only applied on average 61% of 55 hour wind each time I winded it. That makes sense.

I don’t use my thumb on the crown at all.

I use the side and knuckle of my right forefinger to glide under the crown while holding the top of the bezel with my thumb at about 4 o’clock. I glide my finger back and forth under the crown.

It winds super easy and smooth with virtually no effort. It’s simply a pleasure to use. YMMV

Yeah you're right. That method is more effective than I was giving it credit.

It felt to me like my finger was just slipping but if I look really closely it is turning, and rather easily, as you stated.

Thanks for the feedback.

Congrats and fantastic photos. Also see you acquired the new 126500. Would love to see some side by sides and critiques on both sides if you have time. I’ve been back and forth on the white dial 126500, but ultimately I think it won’t hold up in a competition for wrist time with my 321. I’m not strictly a chrono collector though.

I can see that. The Daytona rides lower and sits still a little more stable on my 19 cm / 7.5" wrist but both are very comfortable and eventually disappear after being worn a while.

I'm smoking some meat right now and the Ed white was my choice for legibility of hour index.

It's really nice to bounce between black and white. That novelty alone makes it a nice change.

I can't get over the dial clarity and quality on this Omega. It is way better than others I own which punch a little lower than a submariner in finish. This is above most Rolex stainless models in finish. Even the sub dial register hand has perfect alignment along the clock. While my new white Daytona does that, my AD purchased black one does not. Rolex QC lottery.

Thanks for the comparison. Yes I’d love a white dial something one day for variety, but very interesting to hear from a clear Daytona enthusiast that the EW321 is punching way above its weight even next to the 126500. Many 321 owners I believe feel the same, that the quality and attention to detail on the EW is leagues above most SS Rolex, and for the price to also get a beautiful rose gold Lamania movement, well I’d call it one of the best undervalued/underappreciated secrets in horology right now. Thanks again for the photos, and enjoy the bbq! Cheers

Hard as in you can't grip it that well? It's the same for me and I use the grab and pinch method, but I don't really have any issues winding it. It's definitely not as easy as the CdV though, that crown is super easy to grip and a lot "softer/looser" feeling.

However I might have to try Brian's method after reading his reply lol.

Yes exactly. It doesn't put up a fight but is hard to grip. I actually use Brian's method on the CdV but can feel the crown spin. I assumed the EW wasn't spinning with this method but it was.

Wow! Some amazing chronographs. That 321 is awesome, but I’ve tried on that VC and it has so much character and charm. One of the best chronos out there.

It's definitely a little stiff to wind at first..

It eases off considerably with some use and becomes very smooth to wind.

My first impression was the same as yours initially.

Don't worry, it will resolve.

Congrats! Looks great on you. Also, love the CDV and how you clearly wear your pieces. Clearly a lover of chronographs.

One more question. I noticed my pusher tops spin. I did it on accident and I can't seem to tighten or loosen them. But they spin. Does yours?

I took this as my only watch on a 12 day vacation. Timed all kinds of things like ride waits and pool laps. Swam in it. Never once got tired of it. Gave it a proper bath and enjoyed the movement every morning. Bracelet is superbly comfortable. I needed maybe one more microadjust at 88 deg and humid.

Nice. I also take my 321 Speedmaster in the water, cautiously.

Same here, I found mine difficult to wind for the first few months...however after a while it got smoother and now it winds like butter.

The BEST. Enjoy. So I just received mine and am giddy. Realized my watch box doesn’t have a compartment for secondary strap, tool, spring bars. Did they do away with those for current deliveries?
