you need to try them on.

ive tried the 34 mm on, and its perfect.

its not a womans size. what is that anyway?

i wouldnt class TENZING AND HILARY as woman- and they wore small watches to the top of everest.

I don't know who started the "if the lugs don't hang over the wrist, it's not too big" concept, but I think this looks manlier, rather than making the arm look small by the watch swallowing it up:

I'm going through the same issue. At first I thought the 39mm was perfect, but now I'm considering the 34mm. I'm 5'6'', 150 lbs - bit stockier. Tried on the 39 in both black and white...I love both colours. But now I'm wondering...does it look big? My wrist is just a bit bigger larger than 7 inches.

My wrist is just over 7” too. I went with the 39mm OP me have zero regrets. Good luck

I’m 6’2” with a 7” wrist and wear 36mm, and that’s the old style with the thinner case that wears smaller. I’m sure 34mm would be fine, but it just depends on taste. When I wore my 39mm Aqua Terra, it just made my arm look smaller, which I’m not sure is the goal.

I think the 34 looks great on a smaller wrist.

Tried on a 34mm for size today and I’m HOOKED. Fits my 6.25 inch wrist like a glove. 34mm white dial OP will 100% be my next piece thanks to this thread.

34mm is such a classic size..
Brings me back in time..
But with the quality... and robustness...of the present...

The 34mm case definitely suits you well.

I went through the OP34 vs. OP39 thing recently and chose the OP39. My wrist is 6 7/8". You have to look at the OP34 from the side to see that the bezel is much more vertically sloped than on the OP39. You cant see this from straight on, but from the side there is a big difference.

Popular bias aside, try them both on but the 34 sounds like a better fit

40mm serves well with sporty versions hence my DD or Dj which have dates I opted for 36mm. OP is a pure classy under stated watch which only few people understand. 34 mm is so comfortable and gives you that vintage feel. OP 34 is great watch for male and female.
i agree with what you said. i have been trying to figure out why guys say that 34 fits them perfectly.. whether small or big guys.. some swearing that the 34 wears like a 36..

i think its how the new OPs are created now. with the advent of Maxicases in rolexes in 2005, certain models (GMT,Sub, OPs,,) look and feel much fuller than what their diameters suggest. Not only are the lugs thicker, but the watches are heftier bec it sits a little taller in the wrist.

IMHO one distinct advantage of 34s and 36s are the PERFECT proportions they possess. Not that the 39 is bad looking (i actually like it a lot!) but the original proportions of the 34 and 36 just feels "right at home" i guess. Besides.. its not a sport model so there really is no need for it to be much bigger.

My advice, just try and wear any model regardless of the size and take pics. by pics i mean pls include the Whole forearm and not just the a wrist pic.. that way you can tell if the watch is proportional to you or not.

This is coming from a guy who owns a 40mm Speedy and 42mm ExpII btw.

my favorite size is a 36, but get your point on dial variation. To me I prefer smaller watches generally 36,37,38. The 40,41, and greater I find start to look too big on my wrist.

I find the 36 and smaller dials look better on a leather strap. I got a DD36 and I took off the bracelet. I think the 34 dial can be something you are very happy with..but try to check out the bracelet it tapers quite a bit.

but as others have said...most important is to buy what you like.

My wrist is 7'' or just over and I think the 39mm fits well... I'd prefer something with a little more presence - but this comes down to my style, more than a fit, I feel.
I'd not be happy with a small size watch - but again, more a personal preference than anything else.
