GTG - Orange County, CA - Sat, Oct 04 @ 1200

FYI - there is a Las Vegas GTG scheduled 27 Feb - 1 March. Not sure if anyone is planning on making the trip but that could be cause for some conflict. GerardoG is organizing that event. Hopefully some from SoCal could attend.

Based on the responses I have received so far, most people are available on Saturday Feb 7th or Feb 28th. I am still waiting for responses from several others. Once I receive more responses I will let everyone know what dates from the original list of dates that work for the most people.

We had a small group of 5 that showed up, but this gave each of us the opportunity to get to know everyone better as the group was not too big. We talked watches for 2 hours and had a great time over a light lunch. Thanks to Jesse for picking up the lunch for the entire group. Totally unexpected! We all owe you at the next GTG.

David, aka 2ar2c1 shared several vintage pieces with us. My personal favorite was the vintage no-date sub.

Our very own Vanessa (TRF watch tech and watchmaker) shared with us her expertise in watch making. She is very passionate about what she does and she truly knows her stuff Thank you for sharing your knowledge with the group as it was educational.

As far as pictures, well we actually forgot to take pictures of the group, but did manage to take a photo of the watches we had on hand.

we had a great time, always a blast to sit and chat watches with other fanatics. thanks to Dave for setting it up and the swag :) His tabletop water test of my divers proved successful, who needs a tester.

I picked up 3 pieces from JOT before the gtg and was able to admire Vanessa's handiwork first-hand: thank you Vanessa.

Happy to meet Jesse and Christian who came down from LA: next time it'll be closer to home, maybe BH. Jesse, you were too generous, thanks. We had fun talking about watches, restoring old cars, Vanessa's training...
there is a very special piece she brought along, maybe someone will spot it.
