How old were you when you got your first Rolex?
Just wondering how old everyone was when they got their first Rolex, and what was their first model.
I bought a TT Submariner L series when i was 40. |

Me too - I just turned 40 and my wife bought me a Sub the day after. She wanted to give me a Rollie and I chose it myself. Great wife! Oh, and I guess I paid for it as well...

I was 18, and spent a good chunk of my summer earnings back in 1981, a Sub date from an AD in London $580.00!

Hmmm, I'm 35 (and was when I got Bluesy), so I had 2 choices. I still want to identify with the younger set, but likely am more like the older, so my answer was 25-35!

Paid $600 for my first GMT Master in 1979 w/acrylic crystal. I was either 19 or 20.

I was 38 when I bought my Day-Date in 1988. It was my first real Rolex. I have a friend that lives on the Mexican border and I bought a fake DD in Mexico for $10 probably 10 years before that. I wore it for a while but it turned my wrist green.

My 1st swiss watch was the Omega Seamaster Chrono Diver (blue dial) back in 06. Shortly thereafter, I got the Rolex 14060 E serial - I was 35 at that time.

Got my first Airking at 12
I apologize as this is kind of a repeat of what I put in my new member post but it fits this topic. I took a s/s Air-King on trade from a gentleman that couldn't read the dial, against a Seiko with a white dial. It was in 1972 and I had an after school job at a jewelry store that my dad was managing. I paid him $18 for the watch although I had to bend the rules as I was only really allowed to give a maximum of 20% of the value of the new watch he was buying towards the sale of the new watch which was about $80.00. Anyway … I thru in the extra 2 bucks to make it work and he was so overwhelmed by my generosity he took the deal and I bought the watch. I felt very fortunate at the time and I was the only 12 year old on the school bus wearing a Rolex.

I was 20 when I purchased my Tudor Chrono Monte Carlo in 1983 with virtually all of my summer holiday earnings. My first real Rolex, a black face EXP2 was puchased at 32.
