Help authenticating this watch?
Hello all! I was browsing ebay earlier and came across this watch http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...=STRK:MEWAX:IT and was wondering how it looked to you all? How would I go about determining if it is genuine? I know it has aftermarket parts on it such as the dial and I am ok with that but I want to be sure it is a genuine rolex and not a fake. Thanks in advance!

I'd never buy a watch so minimally photographed and documented. If something is worth showing, you show as much as you can to get top dollar. If you have things to hide you don't photograph them.
The one photo of the clasp shows a lot of polishing has taken place, look how soft the coronet is, practically indistinguishable. No return policy either. Personally, I wouldn't touch this one. Buy something from the FS/WTB forum here.

need more pix
I'd like to see more pictures, unless the seller is well-trusted. You need the serial number and model number-- just ask the seller.
I'd also like to see how much stretch is in the bracelet and pix of the movement. You can review the seller's ebay history. |

forgot to mention
On my earlier reply-- the serial number will tell you the age and something about what the condition could be. If this watch is a recent version, it should be in great shape, and I'm surprised the seller isn't bragging about it. If it's older (10 to 40 years), the condition will vary wildly. This starting price is nice for a newer watch but not for an older one.

thank you all for the input. i asked the seller for pics with the serial and model numbers as well as the movement. there is a return policy of 7 days for a full refund so that is a plus. i will post pics/ more info when i get more information.
