I know this thread is a couple of months old, but I just found it and felt I had to comment.

What a great post!

Hong Kong is one of my absolute favorite cities in the world. For me this city has almost everything; the hustle and bustle of a big city, the skyscrapers, the fast tempo, people everywhere... But then you'll also find the small townhouses, the beaches, the forests, places with almost nobody around and that will make you feel relaxed and forget about all the stress... and we can go on and on. It's a very dynamic place indeed.

To be honest, I wouldn't mind switching SH for Hong Kong...

Thx again for sharing.

Cheers,
Joe

I loved this thread when it first "came out" and I have gone back to see it again several times! Love these kinds of threads... Sadly, it would be too boring here where I live; just trees everywhere

Perhaps one should give this a try someday here in SH, but I guess the Taxi driver would think I have gone mad or something.

Trees in Sweden, you got to be kidding me!?

Do it while you're out walking then! I'd love to see Shanghai from a "pedestrian's point-of-view" . That'd save me the trip from Sweden

Especially here in the north of Sweden, we got loooooads of trees.

Thanks Joe. Hong Kong has its short comings, but I agree it's a great place. Not least of all for the ten million Rolex ADs around here.

I'm heading to your neck of the woods on Thu. I'm in the Porsche Carrera Cup support race during the F1 race weekend. Hope to survive in one piece.

Now that is a great idea for a thread. I'm going to try that next time I'm in Tokyo.

Awesome! If you start the thread, I will do the same in Stockholm

I wonder if you could take these "pictures in a car", but while you're racing? Or even better, like a movie!

Here is video clip of my 2009 Macau GT Cup race. It's a street circuit so quite dangerous, but exciting.

I'm sure you'll do great!

Just make sure to go flat out on the long straight between corners 13 and 14, and I think you should be fine!

Typical that I can't make it this year, now when Schumi is back and everything (perhaps not my personal favorite, but the Chinese will for sure go crazy for him ). So I'm pretty sure it will be a great event (as usual).

GOOD LUCK!!

Cheers,
Joe

Ha, ha, ha, I'll keep that advice in mind. Going flat out at the back straight is not my problem. It's the braking at 150 meter mark from 265kph that's a bit difficult.

Yes, China loves Schumi. It was a disaster back in 2004 the inaugural event for him though. Wow time goes by quick! I was racing that time in a Formula Renault support race. Even managed to pose by one of the Scuderia cars. That's about as close as I'll ever get in an F1 seat.

Best spent 10 minutes today! What a race, you're an excellent driver! (although I don't think you were holding the camera ). You avoided an accident with that 430 really well, and what was Ginetta doing? . Thank you for sharing!

I have to ask, have you ever competed in Monte Carlo?

No money for Monte Carlo la.

Oh, and I better have NOT hit that 430. He's my brother. I'll never hear the end of it at family dinners if I did.

Although he did punt me off from behind at turn 4 of Sepang F1 track a couple of years ago. Hmm....

Thanks for sharing pictures. I have two things common with you. SS GMTiic and a 2008 BMW X5 4.8i which I got just today. What a joy combination :)
