Does anybody really like netbooks?

I had to send my dell backwith a bad hard-drive...it was suppose to be back today but no show.
Im using a Dell netbook I bought when the craze first came out....I love the size but the smaller keyboard is h*ll...I make a typo every sentance
I will be sooo happy to get my 6mg memory back and full size keyboard.

I don't particularly like my netbook, but it was only $250 and it is great to use when traveling internationally. If it gets lost/damaged on the trip, no biggie

I did not like it at all. I gave it to my daughter. She plays Farmville on it. About all it is good for

I'm probably the only one here who doesn't know what a netbook is...

Is it like a laptop or an iPad type device?

I bought a netbook specifically for travelling. The size, weight and 10 hr battery life was what I needed.

Used the built in SD card reader to download photos daily onto the hard disk during the holidays.

Other than the convenience factor, it would not be something I would use as it is very slow compared to most laptops.

Have an Ipad now, but still use the netbook for trips for backing up photos.

The Intel Atom processor is the problem. It is a piece of junk. Lenova is coming out this month with a very cool, business Think Pad. It may be worth a look. Pricey at $1300 or so, but not that much different from Apple computers. It got great reviews, the battery is 8 hours and the extended battery is 18 hours. Amazing. I think it is called the Think Pad 220 X or something like that. I will take a look at it when it hits the stores this month. Also it is super light and has the Intel i5 chip.

I've had netbooks for a few years now and still use them, but not daily.

I use the netbook for things that the iPad was never designed to do, but for simple email or surfing on the go, I have to say I much prefer my wife's iPad if it was capable of multiple user profiles. But it's an Apple to Orange comparison (pun intended).

I am converting my wife's old netbook for my 4yr old to use, since my wife will have nothing to do with it now.

I love my Dell netbook. I travel with it, and it so much easier to get through airport security than a full-size laptop. I also carry it on motorcycle trips for checking weather radar and keeping in touch. It is rugged and reliable.

Netbooks are fine - Just as long as you do not expect to use them for your main notebook uses - MS Office apps / digital photo / videos etc.

Think of them as tack hammers Vs. sledge hammers - for getting real work / entertainment done.

It's a very small, ultra portable (and incredibly inexpensive) laptop. They don't have the full specs contemporary laptops would have due to size limitations but are anywhere between $250-$500 dollars.

Right. Not powerful enough to be a main computer, but good for checking TRF on the road (like I'm doing now )

I love mine. Have used it daily for 2 years, actually typing on it right now, while sitting in my couch with my son sleeping next to me, and the tv on...
At my workplace we have free wifi, so in my (1 hour) lunch break I can just surf the Internet, and check my e-mails without having to sacrifice my time in the evening.
It fits just fine in my purse!
