Welcome to the Forum!

From the looks, it appears to have had the dial replaced at one point.

Congratulations!

Pics of it with the old dial?
Was there anything wrong with the old dial?
that's what made them cool and gave them character IMO.

It was my fathers daily watch for 25 years...he decided to give it to me so he sent it to the RSC in Toronto and literally made it completely new. He wasnt thinking about the value or the way the watch looked "older".....after joining the forum I wish he did! He gave my brother the same watch but a gold/blue...that one is completely original as it wasnt worn one since 1985, just needed a normal service (lube, etc). He just wanted me to enjoy the watch for another 25 years worry-free. 1700$ bill at the RSC so everything is new!

that link there is my first, first post to the forum. has some other pics and the RSC bill.

$1700? What did they do it? That sounds a bit pricey!

Ahh, just read the above thread, silly me. I do ask why they replaced the dial and hands and what are the additional part they are talking about?

To be honest...I'm not sure :( The old man was telling me me that every 6 weeks it would lose 2 minutes...it doesnt do that anymore. Maybe some internal parts? They appraised it at the same price as a new sub-c...so ill be the first to say that I am completely lost on this subject

EDIT: maybe by additional parts they meant to say Bezel?

I don't know, but it's very expensive. Was the watch in that bad of shape, I find it hard to believe they needed to replace all that. Did they give you back the parts?
