1st Macro Attempt...16610. Not Great

This is my very first attempt taking macro shots. I am borrowing my fathers Nikon P7000 ad the location is in a hospital.

This is my son's 2nd night here being treated for bacterial conjunctivitis in his eye. CT and blood work is all clear so he just has a IV drip of fluids and antibiotics.

Anyway, I am pretty bored and decided to try some photographs. All shots were at f2.8/1-30th sec exp/iso 400/hand held. Strobist...overhead fluorescent light only. (Cropped only in post)

Not good shots by any means, just trying to occupy my time. I can't wait to get my macro lens and the fun begin!!

Sorry to hear that your son is in hospital, hope he's OK soon .

As for the pics , I would try using a tripod and some sort of light box to reduce glare, even an old lamp shade will do

Thanks. I was limited in lighting, lack of tripod, etc in the hospital.

I am looking for a macro, probably the Nikkor 105mm 2.8 (the Sigma 150mm is another option), but still researching. I going to make my own light box.
