Advice on where/how to sell a Panerai

Hi All

First of all if I'm being honest I know very little to nothing about watches other than they tell the time and Rolex's are both good and likely out of my price range 🙂, so I apologise in advance for my ignorance and if I ask any silly questions. (Eager to learn)

Hoping someone can offer me some advice on where is the best place to find a good buyer for a Panerai.

I guess that eBay is a good cheap to sell resource but is there anywhere good specifically for watches or in particular Panerai's

Also are there any potential red flags/scams to look out for in a prospective buyer?

What do buyers look for when buying a Panerai?

I appreciate all advice/tips.

Thanks for your help.

J

So...am I right in understanding you are not a watch person but came upon a Panerai - and you want to sell it?

It's bespoke and only available to Royal Navy Clearance Divers.  Panerai Luminor Submersible PAM00664 only 50 made. I'm not an established seller it's just a chance acquisition.

Sorry to be so blunt, but honestly, a first time seller who has no history and knows little to nothing about watches will likely not have success at a private party transaction through some of the typical channels.

Your best bet may be to find a dealer or trusted seller who is willing to buy the watch from you. You'll get less but you won't have to deal with any is he a scammer, does he think I'm a scammer type issues. It's the route I went when moving some pieces because I have no selling history either.

You generally need a strong reputatuon to get full value. I would contact Davidsw or thanh do and see what they would give you for it. Probably more than a few trusted gents in the UK as well, I just don't know anyone to recommend. Good luck.

I would suggest you sell the watch locally in a face-to-face deal you can easily posted in a local classified ad. I personally would never buy watch online through either a trusted seller or on eBay. Although many do buy from trust and sellers it does take a reputation before you will be trusted, I wouldn't bother wasting my time on that . Good luck
