I don't see why it would be a bad idea. Enjoy wearing it!

I'd say the majority of the public can't tell the difference between the Daytona, a Sub, or an Invicta. No one cares what you are wearing on your wrist except other watch enthusiasts.
Buy it , wear it and enjoy it :) Occasionally you'll get a patient that will recognize it and it'll be a good source of conversation.

I have owned a SS Daytona twice but each time flipped the watch, once for a Royal Oak Chronograph and once for an IWC Perpetual Calendar Chronograph. I'll admit I was a little self-conscious wearing it, but in reality my patients never asked about my Daytonas or any other watch for that matter. So I'd say go for it. If it had a date I'd probably still have mine.

Sounds quite prudent to me. Minimize chances of bacteria hanging out in the nooks n crannies.

Why not? The only folks that will notice it will likely know it for what it is...! Wear in good health!

I am too much of a germaphobe to wear the same piece at the hospital and at home. Nothing to do with patients perception my case

Yeah the only patients who've noticed mine are other watch guys. As a doctor, it's not a secret that you make a good salary so I wouldn't worry about the flash aspect.

As others have said, the downside of the Daytona is no date and seconds on a subdial. I don't check pulses in my specialty so the seconds wouldn't be an issue, but I sign a lot of paperwork and constantly look at my wrist for the date.

I've only had 2 patients ever mention my watch. One had the same one but flipped it and the other was a guy that worked in a jewelry store. Both lead to nice conversations.

My primary has a couple Rolex's. When I had surgery the surgeon was wearing and older Turn O Graph. Good with me.

I wear all of my watches at work. Most commonly I wear my Submariner Date LV or my Speedmaster Professional. I haven't taken my own vital signs in years so the seconds hand isn't as important to me. I just like to keep track of my pace through the day.

I feel it should be compulsory for doctors to wear a Daytona to work.
I certainly expect it and I am disappointed when I see a doctor of any sort who is not wearing a nice watch.

Wear both of mine to clinic. No issues even with YG, wouldn't worry about a Daytona at all!

I'd think that for a physician the Daytona would not be the best watch simply because in order to take someone's pulse I assume one would rather use the large seconds hand with seconds markers and not have to hit a pusher to do so. But I'm not a doctor so what do I know.

Don't worry, wear it. You will be fine. However, when you pull up to your office in a Ferrari or Bentley, that's when your patients will start to talk. Trust me.

I say wear what you like - most will never really notice. My Doctor wears his stainless Sub but I think I only notice since I'm a typical watch guy...
Anyone with common sense will always want their Doctor to be successful and happy!

Of course you should and could if you wish. Mine has survived all the hand washing but, as I have taken it off to do a procedure, has almost been lost in my scrubs a couple of times.

I wear my GMT2 heaps. Tend not to wear my Sub not-date because I check the date 10s of times per day haha
Don't wear my Navitimer with leather band as much as before because I have to wash my hands many times per day and the leather did age a bit more than I was happy to.

I am conservative with a capital C and I am currently wearing a SS 16520 and it looks insignificant and fades into the background because it has an ordinary bracelet, an ordinary bezel and an ordinary face.

It may be a technical wonder but it is bland and hence is good to wear.

Finally no one will even notice it.

People tend to notice gold or TT Rolex whereas the SS models fade into the background.

So wear it and enjoy it.

Regards

Mick

All of my MD friends wear TT DJ for some reason? That is the one I see most in the clinics.

I'm just an ER nurse, but I wear either a stainless Sub or a TAG F-1 to work every weekend. The occasional patient comments, and a few coworkers bust my chops about my taste in watches. The doc who wears the Hulk and the moon watch and I have decent horological conversations sometimes. Wear the thing- you earned it.
