GMT 1675 Dial and Hands Auction on eBay

Hey Guys:

Every once in a while, something interesting turns up on eBay...

Here is an auction for a GMT 1675 dial and hands set...

Seven days to go, and it's already over $1500....

Should be an interresting finish!

Whats more interesting is that the red hand is fake and all 4 hands have been poorly relumed. So what people are bidding on of any value is the dial.

A fool and his money..

Yes, the hands are relumed. As mentioned above, the value lies in the dial itself.

Hey guys, how can you tell the hands have been relumed? Does it have to do with the fact that they're not "bumpy"?

I too am curious about this as I always marvel at the knowledge of the members of this forum with regard to spotting inconsistencies. It is often disheartening when I look at a picture and think, "yeah, that looks OK" only to have others pick it apart, but I hope to be there one day.
