Icon20 16803 Tropical dial or fake , need help !!!

I just received a 16803 sub from a dealer and they claimed watch was all authentic and original. The bracelet was aftermarket as well end caps. The big concern for me is the dial . The dial is brownish purple and has been re-lumed. The is really great looking but the relume is horrible. Then hands were also re-lumed and poorly I might ad. The equal sign between the 1000ft and 300m is slanted upward approx 30 degrees. line are equally jagged and appear to intentionally that way. Advice and any help is greatly appreciated.

I am guessing the dealer does not comprehend original and authentic. I like the dial but the big questions has it been ruined, is it fake, can the relume be removed by a skilled Rolex craftsman.

I'm much newer to the Rolex game than the vets of this forum, however many things are alarming to me about this watch.

-Two different colors of lume
-The bracelet is aftermarket as you stated, but looks as if the gold is peeling? (Just noticed it's your reflection in the gold)

I have been offered a small compensation nowhere near what I requested to atlas replace the bracelet with authentic and a correct year. I can return it for a refund,
they say.

dealer from florida 6g. I went to the 6 because of the alleged authenticity of the 16803 and alleged tropical. They offered refunds so took shot, I have a couple other 16803's that were cheaper and original but did not have brown dial.

it's always in your best interest to take the watch to an AD and have them give it a look over in person. This way they can be precise and tell you exactly what's up with it. If it were me, I would return the watch if applicable. Just seems like too many things are "off" about it, especially that multi colored lume!

The gold is not pealing its just the lighting in the pic. The band is actually nice and very tight. Just fake

A quick search brought up some others with the purple dial. If I had to guess, I would say the watch is authentic, however was serviced very poorly! The lume is awful and not only that it's the wrong color on the Mercedes hands. Also, the bracelet is aftermarket too and you paid 6k.

I saw one as I just did a search that was all authentic with original band for a little over 6k. Of course, condition played a factor in that price but yours has some serious visual issues.

I would return and put that 6k towards something much nicer.

Still, the dials lume is a mess.. worth a return to me.

Still have the other one and a more blue dial version with slight purple tint at the right angle sometimes it looks purple and blue in two different hour glass shapes. Pretty cool

Can you just send it back for a refund? What's the deal with that "not returnable if removed" tag?

Told them I want atleast 1500 refunded and I would consider fixing it but not sure I am even willing to do that. The fact that the watch was completely misrepresented is more of an issue to me.

Ya isn't that tag a joke. That wasn't in the ebay photos and they claim the watch came from an outside supplier that told them it was authentic and even more ridiculous is the fact they said they had an in house jeweler examine the watch at my request for authenticity before I paid. Really I am by no means a Rolex expert and as soon as I got the watch I immediately noticed the fake bracelet and relume.

If I were you I would get a full refund and return the watch. If they went as far as to be deceptive about the dial (two colors of lume) then just imagine what they've done to the inside. Clearly it wasn't serviced at RSC.

The color of the dial is more brown than purple on the watch the purple pic is the one they posted on eBay. The more brown tone pic is the one I actually took and it is even more brown the the photo to the naked eye.

Ya I did not open the watch. My good pal Doug is a rolex guy and he said throw some info up here with some pics and see what other guys have to say. The equal sign between the 1000ft and 300 meters are angled up about 30 degrees that had me wondering if the dial was real but I guess Rolex made some with that configuration and if so they must be a little scarce I have not been able to find another image.

Being very honest, you severely overpaid for that watch. It most likely has aftermarket parts inside. I say this because if they cared so little to destroy what you can see on the outside, then just think what they did to the parts you cannot see.

Aftermarket bracelet too? Poor lume? Trust me, give that watch back. Save your money! Baselworld is almost here :)

Just hoping I get my money back. Accompany that sells fake Rolex along with a line of crap about how real it is makes me wonder. The email response to me after I advised on the issues with watch even contained a little side note about how they need to verify what I claim is wrong. Hmmmmmmm
