scored a 23 year today but store charged me 1000 plus tax. Still well under secondary but so much more than retail :(

My purveyor offered me a PVW 23 y.o. for $1500 here.
But felt it was more than I'd like to pay.

Yeah it's out of control and the OP's prices are the norm for a retailer that knows someone is going to pay it. There is just not enough still, to go around, and everyone wants it. My local package store had an $1,800 price tag on a bottle of Michter's 20 year bourbon which is almost double the prices on secondary market and it sold... people are nuts, so we can bitch about the prices and if there is better bourbon out there, they are valid discussions with merit, but until people stop overpaying and hiding bottles in their bunkers, these prices ain't drop'n

The prices quoted may be market value, but insane.
There are many similar tasting bourbons.
I should sell for a Sub or Explorer!

Received this yesterday!
