Icon2 won Deepsea on eBay..shall i proceed ?

Hi, the seller of eBay item: 220648773627 (Rolex Deepsea) giving me second chance offer @ $6,100 approx as the winner did not contact the seller.

The watch was listed on Aug 5th and ended today being 12th.

My feedback is low so i emailed the seller 3 days ago and he gave me go ahead to bid.

Seller's feedback looks ok but there is no activity on account since October 2008 which is the reason why its stopping me.

What do you guys suggest? what do i ask from the seller ? how do check the authenticity and possession of item?

Thanks

A second chance offer usually means that there was shill bidding involved.

I would stay away and look for a watch here on the for sale forum.

Sounds like you have doubts, if so do not proceed.

Good luck.

This is wrong in every way.

The pic is a stock photo, not even the actual watch.

Most of the feedback is for baseball cards. No seller feeback since 07 and none as a buyer since 08.

Only $2K of the transaction can be on Paypal.

Run away fast! Absolutely a hijacked account, or a desperate crook.

Hmmm.... no recent activity, only stock photo of the watch.... I think you should wire the money, don't ask any questions, and then hold your breath until it gets there. Just my opinion.

No one deserves to get scammed, but some people are asking for it, that's for sure.

That's exactly part of the scam..price it low enough so that it looks like a great deal but still within reason.

I concur with everyone who posted ahead of me....no way do you complete the sale!!!

I agree with everyone else and would add that you should check that out BEFORE you bid.

Indeed the no recent activity would scare me off , there are more pictures of the watch with the listing . Why use a stock picture as main one is beyond me ?

$6K is a lot to spend on a watch that you might never actually receive.

Always err on the side of caution, and if you get a questionable feeling and cannot eliminate the risk...........walk away with the comfort that you still have all the $$$$ in your pocket.
