don't know with AD's but trusted sellers or chrono24 should give you enough choice

Ok thanks once again fellas.

Just made my initial enquiries this morning. I'll keep you all up to date and with any luck I'll be posting my very first 'Incoming' on the Patek forum.

Once again, thanks to each and everyone of you for your input, your advice is invaluable as always.

Paul

Between the two, I'll go for the 5712R but my answer would be different if the other choice is the 152020R.

I may need to change strategy here folks. From the elusive 5712r to the more expensive but infinitely more obtainable 5205r. Polar opposite I know, but next on my Patek hitlist.

Interesting , I thought the 5712R was easy to access and the 5205R very hard.
I said this because I had the 5205R, and I still have the 5712R. 5712R my AD order it for me and it took 2 weeks ; for the 5205R my AD told me that they might get one next year so I ended up calling like 25 AD's, until I found one and sold to me w no discount. I guess things had change ; keep us posted, in a way is nice to hear that as a 5712R owner.

When I got my 5712R, I called the first AD, it took them 4 days to get and they gave me a great discount. Purchased in May 2016. I live in South FL.

5205R still tough to get in UK and ME. The London Salon has a December allotment for 1 and I know of another AD that has an October allocation available. They were pretty easy to get in Hong Kong so guess it's the region. I wasn't looking, the AD got one and called me and I said yes as prices were going to move and I absolutely love the watch

Actually scratch all of this, I've just been offered a pre owned 5970r! I can't pass this up. Stay tuned for my incoming, should be by the end of the month, all going well!

x2

If this isn't an option i would go with the 5712r, if you already have a gold skydweller the 15400r may be to similar.

Two of my favorite PM AP and PP watches available under $50K, though for me 15202OR is nicer.
I would go with the PP 5712R vs 15400OR
If 15202OR was in the mix, I would do 15202OR over Patek by a hair.

I'll explain in the Incoming post, but it's basically an early inheritance/watch swap.

Very excited about this, should be getting it in a couple of weeks!

Well in this thread we have 5712 to 5205R to 5970R.

Previously we had the 5227 versus 5296 as a purchase option. And the 5970R is an inheritance. I am hoping the owner is not currently alive!!!Fate certainly works in mysterious and wonderful ways!!

To briefly explain, he loves my Sky Dweller, I love his 5970! He might wear it once a year and doesn't suffer with quite the same horological obsession that I do so we're doing the swap!

Anyway I asked if any of his sources could find me a 5712r and we eventually came to this conclusion.

Anyway he lives in a different country so we'll be doing the exchange at the end of the month hopefully!

Very sensible swap. Never been a fan of the Sky Dweller but didn't see it as a reference that you already had but definitely think it's a sensible move

It's not long back from a full Patek service too. He bought it in '06 and that was its only service so it'll be perfect. I bought the Skydweller about 4 months ago so we'll just need to put a link or two back into it to fit his wrist and that will be that.

Look out for a pic heavy incoming thread in 2/3 weeks!

Thanks again for all your advice
