OK well I will take the suspense away:

Box4.jpg
Notice how the 90th Anniversary Rose Gold Montblanc packaging has a metallic rose gold retro decoration. Very nice.
149Pen.jpg
Note the nib, special order from Montblanc Germany O3B. For those who are not familiar with this abbreviation O3B means 'Oblique triple broad' nib
NibPic.jpg
Here is an update on the nib........it looks beautiful .

The ink and the nib cleaners were freebies thrown in free by the authorised dealer.

Awesome dealer Applebloom http://www.appelboompennen.nl from the Netherlands with world wide shipping included

The booklet with the pen has an anomaly regarding the metal composition of the nib.

RGPlating.jpg
Note that it says "red gold plating"
SolidGold.jpg
The description above says 'solid gold'

So is the pen fully solid rose gold???....it seems not, it appears from the above Montblanc descriptions that the nib maybe solid gold but it is covered with a rose gold plating....

In any event the pen is a wonderful presentation and the nib is outstanding......

Stevo, fantastic, what a haul you received...your pen looks fantastic, I know you will enjoy the Limited Edition Ink(I too bought two bottles for my own use) and have not heard of a Nib Cleaner...how exactly does it work???

I would love to own a #149 Fountain pen and one day I will...but for now my small hands find this FP huge and bulky for me to use. Let us know how you like all your new goodies!!!

Take care.....Leo

Thanks Leo & Kai

The nib cleaners are new to me too

I am yet to try them, but there are 8 in the box.
It says that each nib cleaner can be used up to 5 times,
The nib cleaner is an absorbent type material in the shape of an envelope for the nib to fit into. The instructions which are provided with the box of nib cleaners instruct one to then rotate the nib inside the envelope to remove ink on the face of the nib, and underneath.

It is a very interesting new product, but I am yet to use it to see how well it works.

I will report back when I have tried it out. At this stage I am a little sceptical as to the ability of the nib cleaner to function any better than simply using a tissue to wipe excess ink off a nib after it has been filled.

I must say that pen is truly stunning. That nib is also truly large. We will wait in earnest for the writing sample of that nib.

Nib cleaners seems like a Mont Blanc thing to me. A little over the top although what a bonus and will wait to hear your feedback on this

That is very interesting Kai.
Although I am happy with my O3B nib, the music nib is quite a surprise...so too is the $800 fee for the customisation which fortunately I did not have to pay with my O3B nib which had to be a special order from the Montblanc factory in Germany.

Also what is very interesting is that it appears that one can order a flexible nib in any of the standard nib widths. This is something I have never heard of before, but sounds like a great personalisation offering from Montblanc.

Finally, it would be kind of cool to have the nib engraved 'handmade for Lol-x'

Cool Thanx for the "heads up." I surely didn't know you can order a flexible nib from MontBlanc!!!
