Strange GMT dial

A 1968 GMT Master with pointed crown guards and a gilt dial I have never seen before! Seller claims it is a very rare transitional dial Has anyone seen one like this before?

Nothing surprises me about GMT variants.

I do not think all the gilt dials variants are well documented.

Just several months ago, a new version of the Mk-2 (dubbed Mk-2a) was acknowledged.

It creates an interesting discussion.
