First AP thoughts...
Hello. First post here. I know there's similar threads here, so any thoughts appreciated.....I've only had REAL passion for Rolex up to this point, it's all I wear. But, I am beginning to entertain thoughts of an AP. I like the pics of the sport themed AP's, I have mostly sport in my Rolex collection. Anyone find themselves going, or have gone down this same path?
Any thoughts on.....did you do it? Are you glad? Any regrets? How you feel now about diversifying? Thoughts on sport AP? Thanks for any help/insight |

Hi, go roo. Either a diver or a chrono. Very nice and fit, finish and detail are to die for!

I am in the same boat right now. I have had upwards of 10 different rolex models and am feeling the itch for an AP now.
I have a collection of 4 rolex watches now and am taking the trip to New York to possibly purchase a 15400 this week. Good luck on your search and i will let you know what i think about the difference when i have one of my own. |

AP is my second favorite brand behind rolex at the moment. Great finishing and plenty of sports watches, which is all I buy.
Currently have the 15710st but had a 15400st first and then a ceramic diver. All have been great. |

If you get a chance to try one on definitely do it & ask the salesperson to walk outside with the watch if possible. Once you see the AP bracelet in the sunlight there's no turning back..

First AP thoughts...
I can't believe I'm saying this but.... AP to Rolex suddenly feels like Rolex to Tag Heuer.
Go AP ROO!!!

Go for it!
AP watches are a step above, in details, finishing Relatively, Rolex's are a bit more mundane If you like Rolex sports watches, then a RO or ROO would be a great next step If dressier, there are other brands to explore, like PP or ALS In any case, if you really like watches, rather than just liking Rolex, a lot of other good mfrs out there, and for a high end sports watch, hard to beat AP |

Hey Rich, I was in the same position - I started really feeling the pull towards AP the more I saw them. I started researching them, reading this forum, and trying them on at ADs, as many models as I could.
I, like you, am a sport watch guy. I finally landed on the SS Diver (15710ST) and I absolutely LOVE it. Rolex is still my number one, but honestly this AP has really blown my mind. Do it, you will love it. |

Not many words needed just a picture
As much as I love Rolex AP is tops in my book for design and finish. It has unique sporty look without the price on an RM. Once you experience you will understand.

Bring your rolex. Try on ap on one arm and rolex on other.
No comparison. I went rolex to ap and could never go back. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

They wear larger than Rolex's in general And also larger than their nominal size One reason is how AP sizes are determined For the "44" mm below, the 44 mm is between flat parts of the octagon bezel If measured from vertex to vertex on the octagon, is greater than 44 mm And the measurement is at the top of the bezel, and the bezel expands a bit to the base While the DSSD with a round bezel is just the diameter of the circle (of note, the DSSD bezel is actually less than 44mm, and the DSSD was advertised as 43mm when it was first released) Plus, the lug design and the 2 plots that connect the bracelet/strap to the AP case also contribute to a larger overall size So while both of these are "44" mm, the AP wears much bigger, and would look even bigger if steel or gold |

I just purchased my first AP last Sunday, 15400 Black. I love it. The bracelet is super comfortable, no movement or rolling on my wrist like my BLNR and Sub. The fit and finish is superb. Now I know what I have been missing all of these years. Sure my watch is the entry level AP, but I'm happy with my choice. It was a toss up between the 15400 and 15710, but in the end, I wanted a classic AP.
