I spoke with a Patek trained rep regarding this. He told me that all the pusher buttons are tested at least 1000 times each before shipping. Therefore he thinks it is no problem to reset the different functions of the watch routinely with the pusher buttons.
This is what I was told when I asked the question at a Patek boutique.
