Advice for first time Rolex purchase

Hi all

Been reading here for a few weeks and I’m about to buy my first Rolex tomorrow. Are there any points I should pay attention to tomorrow during the purchase and when I wear the watch? :)

Welcome and Congrats!!!

If you’re purchasing through an AD - nothing to worry about - just enjoy your watch!!!

What reference are you getting?

Buy from an AD or a very very trusted seller, insure it under homeowners or jewelry rider and wear the hell out of it. Don't worry about scratches. Which are you getting?

Yes with an AD :)
Got extremely lucky last weekend, passed by his store and saw a 116613LB shining through the window - the model I wanted! Tried it on and asked him to put it aside until tomorrow.

Just enjoy the AD. Talk about their love of watches too. Sit there with a huge smile on your face like I did while he sized, de-stickered, fusses everything just right.

No worries- enjoy! Ask for an appraisal to be mailed to you if your insurance carrier requires it. Keep the warranty card and sales receipt in a safe place . Congrats!

Very nice! A TT Bluesy is a beautiful choice! I love that model. An early congrats. Try to get some rest, because I suspect you're not going to get much sleep tonight.

You definitely scored one of the most beautiful two tone watches. Just sit back and enjoy the experience. Everyone has their own ways and means when it comes to purchasing a watch, but I enjoy your experience of getting it through an AD. Please post some photos when you get it. Congratulations!

Cheers,
Carl

Grail watch at an AD. Sounds like you’ve covered it all. If this is your first mechanical watch then you have a little bit of info to review. Set the time using time.gov or some other site to base line it. Are you marking a milestone or many of them?

Congrats!

Very happy and excited for you. Buying from an AD you will get a higher level of luxury experience. They should break out the champagne and take pictures. I usually wear at least a sports coat when picking up my watch from my AD. They certainly appreciate it and it’s a show of respect IMO. Nothing like buying a brand new Rolex from your local AD. You will remember the experience for ever. Just last night my wife and I were reminiscing of the night we bought our first two Rolex watches. We bought them on the same night

Do research of what you like and when you go to the store you need to try them on and see which one sings to you. Its different in pictures and when you see it actual.

I hope you get it.

For some people 'tomorrow' never comes. There are several threads where people have been promised a watch only to get denied.

Very nice of the AD to keep it aside for me for a week

Congrats! Keep and build a relationship with this AD. It will pay off down the road if you develop an interest in other models.
