Lots of old folks getting paid a couple of bucks to stand in line at this Swatch store this morning. Only one per customer allowed. (Wife snapped this as she was passing by.)

Come on, those are clearly fellow WIS watch enthusiasts with an intense love and appreciation for horology trying to acquire one MoonSwatch that they will wear and cherish the rest of their lives.

Tomorrow they'll probably be in line for something else to help pay the shoebox rent, and at least the mall is air conditioned. We had the hottest March day on record a couple days ago and today was about the same (31c I think).

I have to hand it to Swatch marketing... I really thought I was over the moonswatches, especially with the mission to moonshine models, but this looks better than expected, and I might pick up just one more...

This is one of the worst releases of all the Moonswatches so far. There’s plenty of good ones, but this is just really bad, pure money, grab for people who have no idea.

No idea? Many of us can't afford can't afford the real thing........and anyway its just a bit of fun that no doubt helps promote their mechanical watches.

There was the worry that the first moonswatches would cannibalize sales of the real thing, but in reality it only raised interest in the genuine article. I would expect the same outcome here, even if it means seeing more plastic swatches out in the wild.

The news said they stocked 20, only 20!, watch at the AD. This is some dangerous game Swatch group is playing. And it say they restock monthly. So, 20 snoopy moonswatch in the first 30 days. This is insane. So glad I don't plan to buy one.

Given their success with the original MoonSwatch, any idea how many versions or colors the Snoopy will be offered?

Is white the first of many colors? I like the white, but given the Peanuts theme will other colors be available. Black seems to be obvious (and already being talked about)...

Black is pretty much a given with the ads Swatch has posted lately.

There was an animation on Instagram where Snoopy blows out the first of two birthday candles...one of them white, the other black. I think the black version will be the last Snoopy version for now...

How do these $300 watches increase foot traffic or brand enhancement for Omega?

No matter what the short term sales data is interpreted as, do not believe this is a good long term strategy for Omega or any luxury brand.
