Deep sea blue love?

Hi guys

Anyone have the deep sea blue? How is it owning own? Are they hard to come by?

Never seen one before until today in Barbados and wow it's a great looking watch, with real presence. Seems about 10% cheaper than back at home too.

Any comments appreciated as I'm only here for another 24 hours. Have a white dial daytona and a platinum YM, but just sold my BLNR as it didn't do it for me.

I haven't seen one in person but from the pics I like the dial I'm a fan of the Deep Sea

If you arent a fan of blue black combo this might not be the right watch.

Especially with the slime green lettering. I think its just weird.

The dial is quite stunning in person. They seem hard to find.

I think it's great. Still pretty tough to come by.
I originally passed on the first one I saw only because I had flipped an all black DS in the past, so it made me second guess the decision.
Since then, I still think about it and told my AD to hold the next one for me when he gets it.
That dial is something special.

I saw one for the first time last week. For me the green lettering just doesn't work. Now if they had made it red as tribute to sea dwellers of the past .....

I've seen it in the first week, it's a really nice piece, but I still prefer my Original all black DSSD. somehow the black bezel/blue dial doesn't work for me, but can see why others like it. I remain a big fan of the DSSD

Love both the DSSD models but the original on the used market is a much better deal.

I have to say, of the seemingly odd things Rolex have done lately, I love that combo dial.

I own the black dial DSSD, but really like this new edition. However I will have to wait until there are some discounts (hopefully) to be had...

Deep sea blue love?

I have an original black dial dssd and love it. Especially when people that know Rolex casually realize that it is not a sub. Not a huge fan of the deep blue, but have seen it in person. It is impressive but doesn't do it for me. It came out a day or two after I bought my dssd and was offered to me as an even trade and I passed, since a blnr is on my list!!

Dealer had one in each of their outlets on the island. Not found it anywhere else. Could have saved around £600 in the end ($900+) and no tax.

Thought long and hard but didn't feel time was right - my time may well come again

Oh and it's fantastic :-)

Love my D Blue! Highly recommend for the domed crystal, dial, engineering, glidelock, wrist presence, and comfort (especially for a larger watch). Mine has been a daily since acquiring it upon it's release. The dial is amazing! From what I've heard, hard to find in AD's, but I got mine from a TRF trusted seller. Try to get the hard bound book as well. They even seem to be hard to acquire. Just bought the Bluray 3D of Jame's record setting dive...Rolex is credited on back of movie cover. :)

Have it. Love it.

I wasn't a fan until I saw one in person. After that, it was fait accompli – sold my DSSD black and never looked back.

Adam

I am hoping in 30-40 years, this will be what the red sub now is to the sub line.

Hi Dyim,

The Rolex book is titled "The Last Frontier". There are a couple on ebay...

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Rolex-DEEP-S...item2edb0fe266

The bluray is titled "James Cameron's DeepSea Challenge 3D". They can be found at many places, here is one from ebay...

http://www.ebay.com/itm/James-Camero...item5414431ca6

Haven't had time to watch yet, but looking fwd to the 3D adventure. :)

All I know is that blue DSSD is selling at a premium right now, my source told me they're sold at about 20% to 25% more than the black one (meaning less discount on the blue). Any blue DSSD buyers can confirm this?
