Not a sports model but I love my old-timer on a strap.

One more shot today - this time vintage suede on my 'beater' 5513. She cleans up real nice on some leather.
Hope all are good. |

Mostly have this one on a NATO but like the look of a distressed strap on a vintage piece as well.

One vintage, one transitional on leather...
Comfort and patina...

I'm with the OP - metal or nylon for me - tried a few suede and exotic leather, but... nah.

I just can't stand open space between the lugs. Leather with endlinks though looks good. Still wouldn't do it on a sports watch though. I'd be rockin natos but not leather

WOW! This is some serious thread resurrection! I was the OP for this almost a year ago! Great pics (though I'm still not convinced and still have not purchased a leather strap for myh 1665!)

Leather strap on vintage Sub does not do it for me! Steel or NATO!

Leather on vintage is cool. IMHO Subs need rubber or steel.

I found this on the Hamilton Leatherworks website when I was looking for a leather strap for my Tudor Heritage Chrono.
I haven't pulled the trigger on this strap yet, but I absolutely love the way it looks - especially on a vintage Monte Carlo.

I just ordered one of Jed's vintage leather straps and I also purchased a SS 16mm Rolex buckle.. plan on putting it on my 14060 when they both come in. Curious to know how difficult it is to put the buckle on the strap? I understand Jed's strap's come with a buckle... are the buckles that come on the strap difficult to get off? Just trying to get an idea of what to expect when they come in, im super excited.

Nice combos. In some ways it makes the watch pop a bit more than on the metal.

For me i think nato and the original bracelet are best for divers but dress watches like OP DJ or AK look VERY good in a leather strap. I am planning to keep my rivet band to replace with a simple croc strap.

Jed's buckles are easy to take off yourself. I have two and they are awesome
My father bought a beautiful gunny strap for his red sub - looks great.

I think the Rolex watches are not to wear with leather straps. The standard bracelet is the one to wear. I think there is watches like Panerai that the rubber and leather straps are the adequate to use.Nevertheless, others brands like Rolex doesn´t run.

I prefer leather straps in general. So here is my contribution. I really like the Gunny Arrillo.
Waiting for a Gunny distressed NATO and Caitlin 4 for my 5513.
