Boca put me on the list and I got a pretty low number (I'm quite surprised). Beverly Hills won't officially make a list until Panerai tells them the 390 is real. They said they'd email me once it was official, but I am noted as of having called/emailed. Not sure if that means I'm on the pseudo list or not. NYC, not sure....., but I emailed a called. Like I said, he sounded annoyed. The others are AD's, but I guess the AD's aren't getting this. I guess I'm so excited b/c I really feel the 372 is too large for me. This one! Wow. Two hands. Stacked 2 liner at the top. Brown dial (didn't anyone else get excited about this????). faux patina. Gold hands. Solid back. and.... OP I movement. The simplest you can get. Like a Panerai should be! edit: oh yeah....44mm!!!!!!

Mik! Your excitement is infectious!
And hopefully you don't have to wait too long since it's being released this month.

I want to see it on your wrist! It would be an interesting move by Panerai. Maybe the 372 will be like the 190. Certainly not an SE but discontinued earlier than anyone thought. My money still wants a 3-7-2. Above said, I still want a 44mm down the road.

Not sure about anything at this point. I'd call everyone you know. Boutiques, AD's, etc. I kinda sorta heard it is a Boutique SE. So that means Boutiques only, but who knows.

In fact, I was told of this new version a few weeks ago by a friend in Hong Kong but unable to locate a photo of it. On Monday, I went to the boutique in China for a general chit chat and asked them if they have heard of the 390. Interestingly, the sales person only became aware of this model when he flipped through the updated booklet therefore I am the first one which placed an order with them. Again, this is the interesting part that I really enjoy on buying PAMs. Hope whoever wants one will get one in due course. |

Can anyone confirm if the dial is a sandwich or painted?

I totally agree with you. The 2-liner, brown dial, and gold hands make this super special. And the rumored price is unbelievable. Still leaning towards the 372, but that might change...

If the 390 is real, I will pass on 372.

I don't think there's any chance this is not real. I just got off the phone with someone in a US boutique, and it most definitely is an upcoming release.

Well, here is my recent findings.
Both Boca and BH emailed me back saying there is no official word from Panerai that this is indeed a real piece, but they have my information and will let me know. No word from NYC. One of the AD's contacted me (not sure if I should give their name, but they are a BIG one) and said that the 390 is a Boutique edition only and I'd have to work with them on it. They also stated they are makeing 2000 of them. So, either this AD has knowledge the boutiques do not or they are researching it themselves on the internet. I think I should work for Panerai in their IT department, specifically around email and communication planning. Sig B, if you are reading this, please PM me and we can discuss my new career at your company! I'd work really hard for you!

Confirmed to me by both East Coast boutiques today. I take them at their word, as I have no reason to doubt them. No one seems to know anything regarding ETA, which boutiques will get them, etc.

From another angle, I am sort of enjoying it. Even though I got frustrated sometime on the need to beg for the one I want, I think this part is what really makes it interesting on this brand.
At the same time, you will become smarter during the process. |
