GV or V?

I noticed on a thread earlier that someone had got a new GV & that the warranty card had "V" & not "GV"

When I got home I looked at mine & it had "GV" on the card

For those that have a GV, what does you warranty card have on it?

Dan
That "V" has absolutely nothing to do with the "GV".

It's the new alphabet for the start of their latest series following the termination of the M-series.

JJ is right, I think the OP is refering to the post where someone had just bought a V serial GV.

My warranty card shows my GV as an "M" serial watch, it's the 3rd line of text

Mine is an M serial number 875---. While the warranty card only has a "V", the hang tag says
"GV".

I was refering to the thread started by "thecoinopcollector"

http://www.rolexforums.com/showthread.php?t=49123

He posted that he had got an M series GV but his model number was 116400V & mine says 116400GV

Oh.....I thought the "G" before the GV stood for the GREEN tint around the crystal.

Hell, this post is getting confusing!!

I'm off to work!!

Bye all - JJ

Hey JJ

I pointed out in yesterday's post that my new M serial number Aniversary 116400 is designated on line 2 of the warranty card as 116400V and not 116400GV
So I think you are missing the point of the original post in this thread. Yes we know now that the new SN's start w/ V. This thread is dealing with model number designation and not Serial Number.

I checked my Milgauss GV which is an M92XXXX serial number and my warranty card shows the style number as 116400V not 116400GV. I did notice that your card is different then mine. Mine has style #, then serial #, then braclet #, then Dial info, on the front of the warranty card. I think the difference in the serial number (yours having a GV and some others having just a V) is due to where the watch was sent to from Rolex. I am thinking because yours was a non US Rolex, maybe they mark the style # with a GV and not just a V. See if any other non US TRF members have a GV Milgauss and the warranty card shows GV no V in the style #. Just a thought. Either way I would not worry about it. It is just one of those unexplainable things that Rolex does.
