Covid strap madness (again). Red rock straps vintage canvas!!!

Howdy all!

I picked up another strap and this one is a good one! 1950’s vintage military canvas from red rock straps!

While I do fancy putting on an aftermarket straps on a Rolex, somehow I always go back to the bracelet quickly. I also rarely see anyone wearing a Rolex with aftermarket straps.

Maybe it cheapens the watch or it ruins the purity and intent of the original design.

What's your opinion on this?

Yes agree up to a point it's nice to have a change but still prefer my Rolex on what they came from the factory.

I find the Rolex 5 digit bracelet quite bad in comparison to modern watches so I wear various straps with my sub.

I don't feel you can cheapen or change the purity of stainless steel mass produced watch.
But each to their own. It's 20 yrs old nearly so I'm not too worried regardless.
I keep the bracelet on my 6 digit Explorer as I don't think it suits a strap as well as the sub and the bracelet is actually good.

Lovely strap btw.

It’s not something I would do, much prefer a bracelet on a Rolex. I’ve occasionally worn a nato strap on a Speedie.

But everyone has their own taste.

Vintage look strap on a modern black ceramic sub with no color coordination, doesn't mesh for me, then again I don't like anything besides the bracelet for sports Rolex

Initially I wanted a drunk arts strap but I’ve been on his waiting list for like 3 years.

I found this guy through Etsy. His customer service is top notch; he lets you pick from various vintages and works on the measure, taper, etc. The finished product is awesome.
