Rolex Pepsi UV Light

Hi all,

I recently got a brand new GMT-II Pepsi from a trusted seller here in Manila. Dated December 2023. Everything was cool until I saw a video about the UV light test. The watch doesn't turn all red, unfortunately. Does this mean that the watch is fake?

Maybe the bezel insert was replaced with an aftermarket one

It's not a good sign. Maybe the UV light is bad?

What does the UV light do to the Lume? Does it turn very bright and stay bright for a bit?

The bezel is all red under UV light. There are various videos on YouTube that demonstrate this.

UV light also makes the lume shine as it does on every other watch with lume.

OP makes a scandalous post about possibly buying a fake from the Grey market with no pictures or evidence and then disappears on us.

Why is this such a common post on TRF?

A more conspiratorial mind may think this is Crown propaganda to scare people away the grey market.

I was thinking that as well. If he’s really in Manila, he’s 12 hours ahead of us, so it’s 1:48 AM there. Maybe we’ll hear back from him.

Perhaps. But then maybe the Crown, if they're reading this forum, will also understand that most of us would LOVE to buy this watch at retail from an AD if it were even remotely possible. Until then, keep your UV light handy!

Had never heard of the UV light effect on the BLRO ceramic bezel. Interesting, what happens to the other colored bezels?

I can confirm the bezel turns red as well I bought a UV light on Amazon for $10 and checked mine. Look exactly the same as the one above. If yours didn’t look this way it’s not a legit BLRO…sorry

Take it back. The unsettling feeling is not likely to go away. Bezel should turn red, no exceptions.

Blue smudge on the bezel insert between 4 and 6.

Highly suspect. AD needs to replace.
