FF for AP Diver

A usual habit of me liking to browse thru watch forums after work to enlighten myself with horological info, and to savour on cool watches

AP forums are getting most of my browsing time, and the Diver is the one that catches my attention.. ahh.. I did went down to an AD and tried a few times. It really blew me away with its beauty and built!

Now, can i ask for your opinion?
Will it be silly to flip my Blancpain FF (dark knight) + cash for the AP diver?

I do like my FF, which is still getting wrist time on Fri and weekend. The bezel is like no other watches have, shiny attractive but subtle. And its relatively very much resistance to scatches. I read that Diver's bezel is a scatch magnet (true?) , so this is one major con. I can only have a diver ($$ constraint), and so this dilemma

Appreciate your advise.
I post on this forum so as to get a unbiased feedback. Thanks!

Have you tried the AP diver on? It would really depend on which one you prefer on your wrist.

If memory serves the FF is 45mm while the AP diver is 42mm. Being a smaller watch person I would probably take the AP because of that (as well as the fact that I quite like its original shape).

Despite the FF's size, it wears very comfortably. I'm seriously contemplating a FF as a diving watch. IMHO, keep the FF and save for the Diver.

I agree with Mike. I would either keep just the FF or save for the diver. I love my AP, but prefer other models over the diver....just my 2 cents.

I wouldn't make that trade even straight up. FF is much more special IMO.

Respectfully I think they're very different watches. I'd classify the Diver as more of a true sports watch while the beautiful FF is pure watch porn.

I prefer the FF as well if it fits. AP is listed at 42mm but wears bigger IMO.

FF fo' sure.

and, yes, the diver's bezel will readily show scratches. up to you if that sort of thing bothers you, though.

I have had the FF and sold it.
I debated the AP diver.

The AP diver is a nice watch but with that bezel it is not a real tool watch.
That bezel is a ding magnet!

Depends what you are buying the watch for... I do not like to baby my watches
so that has kept me away from the ROO line (although I keep debating RG Rubberclad)

I also agree with Mike! Keep the FF (on my short list) and save for the ROO you want!

I prefer the FF over the AP Diver. The Diver wears bigger than 42 mm. They have a new one with ceramic bezel but I still prefer FF.

I'd hold on to the FF and save for the Diver. Both would be awesome in a collection.

thanks all!

After a couple weeks of "meditation" and more tries on the Diver, I have decided to hold on the advance and enjoy my BP FF. Not a easy decision, but well have to learn to conquer it.
Thank you all for the thoughts and input!

Here's me & my dark knight (toasting to Submarino's Espresso Biscotti post in the AP forum. I like my cuppa black, rich & unsweeten).

Good choice, FF should be a keeper!

If you want the AP later on, I'd save for it, but don't sell the FF! :-)

Sounds to me like you made the right decision for you.

Personally, I feel that the AP rhymes and steals over the FF Sport (peerless finishing, mesmerizing dial, rocks one of the best contemporary automatic movements under the hood, looks amazing on rubber or steel, it's an AP...), but there's little use arguing against the merits of the Blancpain.

When you're ready, this will be waiting for you:

In the meantime, enjoy your Dark Knight.

Regards,
Adam

I love my AP's
I don't wear them enough to justify them but I wish they were big enough for group hugs !
