Question on 1968 GMT
Hi TRF folks,
I love Pepsi and Coke but only buying some in the 90's before. When this comes to Vintage I am a humble newbie..... I came across this watch in the Internet and would like to ask for advice on: 1. It has a s/n of 1.7 million so should be MK 1 dial? If yes, I doubt should this has a all red 24-hour hand and particularly mini-rail dail? 2. Is the bezel genuine and period correct? 3. Tritium looks ok and nature? Many thanks in advance for advice to a dummy like me! |

Radial dial is from about 4.2-5.3 mill. You've got a Tiffany radial dial with a all-red 24 hr hand in a 1.7 mill case so something ain't right. as you say should be a MK1.
the bezel looks good. |

That Tiffany Lettering????
for me it looks to be completely weird fonts on that T&C lettering -
i would say stay away from that |

I agree with the others. Although the Tiffany and Co. lettering looks like most of the others I've seen, the "radial style" dial and red 24-our hand were circa mid 1970's.
What is interesting to me is the color of the bezel insert. I've noticed several of these inserts lately where the red has turned to a maroon color as found on your GMT. They always seem to be on the late 1960's GMT's. Has anyone else noticed this anomaly?

Yes, I've also noticed quite few 'fuchsia' red inserts recently... |

That Tiffany is not original. It has been later stamped by some enterprising individual.

Also, the case is dated 1.7mil and should have a Mark 1 matte dial. The only way it would have a 'radial' is if it was replaced at a subsequent service. But, there where never Tiffany service dials..this watch is what I would classify as a 'franken watch' Run away from this one.... |

1 is incorrect, 2 is correct and original.
