Looking for Input From the Patek Experts

Hey Gang,

I'm looking to buy a used Patek (from a Forum member) which is dated 2012 and received service work from Watch Check in the Philippines. I went to the Patek Website and couldnt find them as an authorized Service Center. I did see however they were an Authorized Service Center for IWC, Breitling and Panerai.

The Work Order Included a Restore of the following:
- Scratched Crystal
- Scratched / Dented Case
- Scratched Clasp
- Replacement of Strap

To the Patek experts on the forum, would you be comfortable purchasing a watch that had what appears to be just a cosmetic restore of the watch from this service center? Also, should I care that the watch was polished?

Thanks in Advance!

I would. And I would not buy a Patek polished by an "outsider".

Best

Depends on the watch and the job done. We've seen bad polish jobs from various sources, even including those done by Patek themselves.

Can you post some photos to get more informed opinions?

Otherwise you'll likely get the generic response.

Simple things like strap changes etc I wouldn't have a problem. But dented case and crystal has to be done by Authorised Service Centre

Have you seen the watch in person?

It could turn out rather expensive, if its poor job and has to go back to Patek in the future.

Doesn't seem great, but depends on price, if the price is really good then maybe it is worth it, but without knowing and you listing all the defects, don't sound super, I am against polishing so that would be a no no for me

For a watch of this age it seems like it has had a tough life.
As such I would pass.

No, too many issues, buying a PP should be a pleasurable and even a refined experience, not a battle in the trenches, that's what Rolex is for.
