Dick Gautier, ‘Get Smart’ Actor, Dies at 85
Dick Gautier who played Hymie on "Get Smart" for six episodes has died at age 85.
So long, Dick. Thanks for the laughs. Dick Gautier, who is best known to baby-boomers as Hymie the Robot in “Get Smart,” died Friday in Los Angeles of pneumonia, according to his daughter, Denise. He was 85.

What a great character. I remember one episode where Max told Hymie to “Kill the light” as they were leaving the room. Hymie pulled out a suppressed pistol and shot it. As a 10 year old, that was very funny.

They recently ran a weekend of Get Smart episodes and they had one where Max had to disassemble Hymie. Loved the show and enjoyed Hymie.

Nice guy. When I was in college I worked in a neighborhood grocery store in the San Fernando Valley. He lived in the area and used to come in regularly.
