It's the extra OEM strap that comes with the Ranger. Tudor AD can order it, but is crazy expensive. Around $200 with buckle. It really is good though, silk, cotton, patterns are woven not printed and extremely comfortable. If I had to ever replace it, I'd part with the cash...and I'm cheep.

The rot started for me with Patek, and now more recently Journe. I still wear my Rolexes from time to time, but I can't imagine ever buying another non-vintage Rolex.

I own several "finer" watches from Patek, AP, etc but I always keep coming back to stainless steel Rolex sport watches.

Panera 111 has been the main watch for about a year now, it bumped the Sub. The size just feels better to me.

I've worn Rolex since 1974, and most of those years it was the only brand I owned. I'll always be a "Rolex first" guy, but on two occasions I commented on a person's nice looking watch, which they handed to me. On both occasions I felt that my 14060 ('95-ish model) was a little sickly, in comparison. The first was a Breguet Type XX on bracelet, and the second was a GP chrono, also on bracelet. Both watches were nice looking chrono's, but I think the big difference was in the bracelets.

i had patek,corum,omega,tag,seiko,tissot, also wore iwc,breitling,panerai,jlc,ap,vacheron,rm....

you name it,i've seen it all,but at the end of the day, rolex is the only wich will go everywhere with me.

i'm yet to rotate watches and come back to my rolex stopped,it's always ticking, waiting for me....

BUT,if anybody wants to give me a lovely 40mm ingenieur,i'll proudly wear it in name of science!

I wanted a 16610 for the longest time- until I saw the (then new) Planet Ocean. I had to have it, got it, and still have it. Then I discovered vintage Rolex, and have a 1680. Parts for a 5512 and a 9411 Tudor.

Only the Sea Dweller 4000 is of interest as far as modern Rolex goes, and I seem to go hot and cold on it. I think about what vintage piece I could get with that 8-10 grand and I get distracted.

So many great brands putting out exceptional product. I can't honestly say what one watch I could have if only one... Maybe the 1680... No the 9411... A clean 5512? I can't decide. There is a time and place for them all!

I don't think that any watch can steal a Rolex watch's thunder.

Some watches might fill niches better than some Rolex watches, but Rolex just does what the do better than almost anyone along many parameters.

Some other watches do some things beter than Rolex, such as the dress watch category that Cellini fills, but again, this fact steals no fire from Rolex.

It is the bracelet. Hung me up for years on older Rolex. But the proportions are just so right on pre ceramic Rolex models and some others manufactures. The new rolex bracelets are great, I just struggle with the lugs.

Interesting Thread, I keep trying to go the AP and PP route, but to date none of them have stolen my Rolex thunder (even though I have a PP right now).
After getting a PP 5167R, my last two purchases have been Rolex, and my next two are also leaning that way.

Giving a hard look at AP RO...but at that price point, my mind keeps going back to a nice pre-owned Zenith Daytona...

Every watch has its place, and even with adding a PP and AP, the Sub is still my go to piece.

The RM11 and RM35 100% pulled me away from Rolex.

I still own rolex watches and appreciate them, but the sheer engineering quality of the RM is like nothing I have ever experienced.

Rolex will always have a place in my life and on my wrist, but I can't even compare the two.

The watch hobby does not begin and end with Rolex for me. I enjoy a number of different brands, particularly Zenith. My Milgauss is my favorite sports watch however. My overall favorite would have to be my Zenith Chronomaster full calendar moon phase chronograph.
