Navitimer 46 Blacksteel
What do you all think of this watch. Saw it at the Breitling Boutique at Caesars. Had a few strap choices. Kevlar, Black Steel or rubber. In the $8500 range. Thoughts please.

The black look is in, I get that, and it looks rugged. But at 46mm, I think it's grossly oversized. And the dial is busier than Times Square.

I prefer the 43mm 01. For me, That dial is too busy and I don't like chronos with just 2 rings, much like the Omega POs. not for me.

Beautiful, but too big for me to wear. Looks good on you though.

If you like the watch by all means get it. I agree that 46 mm is very large unless you have very large wrists. I have spoken with a jeweler that says he will not take trade-ins any larger that 44 mm in diameter. So my sense is that the time of vey big watch diameters is over. 40-43 mm diameter watches seem to be the sweet spot. The only concern I would have with the black steel coating is that it doesn't seem to hold up that well, at least on other Manufacturers, I don't know how durable Breitling's finish is. Lastly, if you decide you don't like this watch, my sense is that you would take a bath when you flip it. Just playing devils advocate here as you requested.
