Some more progress on Littorio. Main and secondary armament finished, painted, hull and armored deck painted. I have a few railings left and the aircraft handling equipment and then the hull will be done. Couple days worth of work.

Little update:

I've been on vacation so not much has happened this week. The case arrived and I was able to install the Italian eagle. Most of the painting is now finished and the sub-assemblies are waiting on final touch up and details.

The hull details are ready to go too; all painted and laid out on paper plates and covered with cellophane to protect them from damage or a light breeze. Tonight's task is to finish all of the hull detail so I can permanently mount it to the base.

I have 2 suppliers. One off the shelf guy and one custom guy. This one is off the shelf but all of my smaller ones are custom jobs. I can send you contact info for both if you need some cases.

The Italian Aquila emblem is an off the shelf casting.

Thanks! Been doing this a lot of years so I just approach things methodically with a plan. I rarely make any "OMG" type mistakes. Nothing frustrating about it, just time consuming. Slow and steady and all that

Finished the IMAM Ro43 recon aircraft. They still need their radio aerials but I'll install those on the ship. The wings are paper thin stainless steel, struts are all stainless and the radio aerial will be tungsten wire

Had 3 uninterrupted days to work, so here is the fruit.

No rigging yet, but here are some quick and dirty shots

Next project, HMS Montagu. British Battleship built in 1901.

This is a drawing I did this week of the ship. Most of my ships start out as concept art so I get familiar with the equipment and general layout. I usually do a couple drawings from different angles

Your drawings are equally as impressive as your models, do you display them with the ships?

If I get some time later tonight, I'm going to get the casting flash cleaned off and get her ready to begin construction.
