Any Art Aficionados?
My wife and I have been blessed to have lived in variety of localities through the US. Each move, and often with each travel or vacation we try to buy local art or photography, and while it may never have any real value it gives us pleasure as we reflect on each piece, and the journey behind each piece.
Have you done this as well? I suspect some members have impressive collections if their watch collection is any representation.

I make my own art. I need to set up an etsy store once I have time.

While I am not a 'collector' my wife and I have an eye for art and have acquired a few nice pieces by (non-famous!) local artists (including my own oils) over the years.
Here is our Christmas present to each other. It is 60cmX170cm in Gouache (therefore behind UV glass).

I make my own art (art glass and abstract painting). But I've also picked up a few things in NOLA (Tanner) and some "anonymous" work from Pensacola and Denver art fairs.

A few weeks ago, went out to grab coffee and ended up getting a signed/framed print of this photo. Mostly because my wife likes cat photos.
the exhibition was called "Hong Kong Shop Cats" |

It took me a while to find the cat in the box. This sign came to mind as I was looking.

My partner has an extensive art collection many of which were purchased during travels around the world. She has instilled that appreciation, if not absolute passion, in me.
We recently travelled to France and Italy and bought a very nice painting from the South of France that was framed just last week. Here it is: IMG_4187.jpg |

I am related to one of Americas greatest realist artists; William Glackens. My Mom has several of his paintings.

Nope but my cousin is an artist and he gave me a 1 of 1 lithograph so when he gets famous I'm rich!

I like fine art, I have prints of Picasso, Van Gogh, Manet, Magritte, Renoir, Lowry, Turner, Matisse, Signac, El Greco and Seurat, but when I hit the jackpot I'd like to go to Christie's and Sotheby's with some serious intent, it's the best investment I can see, far better than London property even.
