Rolex engineering and computer automated design

(Moved to appropriate forum)

I'm sure the current Rolex models utilize a great deal of automated design software to tweak the movement and gain minor improvements. So I started wondering what was the last era of watches to be considered completely engineered by hand, using only the drawing board technology of say, the 50's and 60's? When did Rolex start using modern technology to improve the design?

Why are you posting the same thread here as you did in the vintage section?

Aloha! I see you're in Kauai. I moved the post here because this is the more appropriate section. I didn't see the WatchTech section when I posted in Vintage and I couldn't find a way to delete the post from the Vintage section when I moved it. So, if you know how to delete it, I'll delete it or just let it fall to the background.

Welcome to TRF!
Congrats on finding this excellent site. There are some terrific people her that have just amazing knowledge on just watches in general.

Yes I am live on Kauai. What island are you on? People will get down on others that post multiple posts in different threads on the same topic. Perhaps just be careful next time. I know we get excited wanting to post and get answers from our members. Heck happens to me all the time. Just a heads up to keep it to one thread and maybe after a month or so if you did not get a response that you had been seeking post in another thread.

Aloha from Kauai!

Tom
