Thanks. Curious, if that changes your opinion about the watch/and or the brand. Do you think it's too expensive? Any comments about price vs value?

Without having read the article, it seems a bit odd to "con" the plexi for being prone to scratching. To me, the plexi is an integral element of the 372. A bit like dinging a YG watch for being yellow.

I think most people are just paranoid about the Plexiglas. The much loved PAM 249 Cali dial also comes with plexiglas and remains a classic. so is the upcoming PAM 448 & 449.

I love the plexi and would not change anything about the 372, it's perfect in every way.

My dad gave me this mag to read. Does anyone know if I can get that strap with the "67" on it for my Pam 111? Any after market straps that look like that?

for purist, plexi is awesome, but for regular folks, plexi is a con. Who would want to spend $10k on a watch and then have its crystal scratched within a first hour? People will sell the watch and go back to Rolex. That's how it is. Panerai should know that they are not selling just to purist, they are selling to general people as well. And making their 'flagship' watch prone to scratches is just a wrong marketing move.
they could have made the N series 3500 pcs as a plexi only for purist and then O onward as a sapphire for general public, therefore it keeps both audience happy, the purist gets what they want and general people are buying it. too bad, OP too bad, wrong move, no one will spend $10k for a watch that scratch |

I wouldn't consider the 372 Panerai's "Flagship" model by any means.

what I meant by 'flagship' is that this is the watch that is affordable to the general public at a price that is reachable. of course, there is the tourbillon watch at $100k+, and there is the basic 111, 005 at $5k, but have you seen 111 or 005 being advertised in magazines? No... 372 is the one, hence i consider it as the 'flagship'. i understand definition can be different.

i think you can choose the Mission Impossible 1 or 3 and have Peter custom paint the 67 on it. or you can go for the 74 serie strap.

strap maker is TO Straps. it's a one make as the vintage leather was limited.
strap came without buckle, so i used the original 26mm Panerai buckle that came with the 372. came out a nice fitting for strap n buckle. i have an incoming Micah Mauser strap with sewn in buckle, another new set of clothing.
