Is this Tudor 7016 Rose Dial 2483 Movement genuine?

Hi guys,

currently on the lookout for a 7016 with Rose Dial. From what I've read so far, this seems to be even more of a minefield than the 5513s.. Puh.

Anyway, perhaps you can give me your thoughts on this model:

http://www.vipchrono.com/producto/tu...al-box-papers/

Despite having the same number, the movement looks very different from a piece recently sold on TRF (https://www.rolexforums.com/showthre...highlight=7016).

Eager to hear your thoughts.

Cheers

Both are model 2483 movements but about 10 years apart in manufacturing. Both look correct IMHO. One is from the late 60s and the other is from the mid 70s. Im sure others will chime in with a greater depth of info for you.

semi-pcg case looks ok to me, but the dating to '75 seems off to me, I've only seen small rose dials on 68/69 year serials. 75 would have been a snowflake.

The case back is stamped 68 and the serial number puts it in the same range so that is correct for the small rose dial. Most likely it was new old stock sold in 1975 which we have seen many times before with watches.

Thanks a lot for your input on this. The watch sold for 8k Euro, a little too hefty in my opinion, but I guess the papers gave it a bit of a push :)

Ah good point, probably was sold NOS as you mention.

I was thinking with regards to the comment that the movement was different because of the difference in time period between the two 7016's were from. Since the 7016 small rose were limited to being 68/69, I would expect there to be no difference in the movements.

It's just the rotor that's different, both genuine rotors. We don't know the service history. Could have been a swapped rotor or even a swapped movement. Who knows

Quite a few things about this example that I dont like and that are suspect. I also hate that it is listed as 1 Mint
