Do You Like the Nautilus 40th Pieces now decent pictures are out?

Simple question: Do you like the Nautilus 40th Anniversary Pieces now real pictures have been posted rather than the factory shots which have so divided the watch community?

I have started this thread simply because there was a pretty universal dislike to some aspects of the 40th Nautilus models which now that actual watches have been seen has changed considerably. Some of the biggest detractors have now placed or are considering placing orders!

Please have a look at the following pictures before placing your vote, these were all taken by a Patek client of actual production watches and no editing has taken place. It seems to be universally accepted by those who have seen the pieces that the diamond indices are actually very discreet and well thought out and that the 40th anniversary wording far from standing out as it did in the factory photographs actually blends very well into the background in most situations.

It is pretty clear where I stand, have always loved the pieces and the 5711P just keeps getting better the more pictures I see.

I would live to add one to my collection.

I like the case size of the chrono, I hope that will be the nautilus new standard.
Somehow it was blown way out of proportion when it was first released, but now that I see more and more pics floating around, it seems pefectly fine and quite similar to an AP 15400 size.
Will never be able to get used to diamonds on a men's watch, no matter how discreetly done.

I'm missing the option "I loved it from the first second I saw them, never understood why so many were complaining"

Look on the positive side if everyone loved them and they were more affordable, the list would be thousands long...this way of the thousands desiring a different 40th only 20% liked it meaning the chances of getting one are better!

Really liked them at first sight (by photos) and after seeing up close in person, really liking them.

We were told that the case will only be used for the 40th anniversary pieces. I was hoping that would be the new size.

I love Patek Philippe watches and am certainly not trying to create a stir. Never really had a problem with the diamond markers as I figured they would be discrete but once again I personally just don't care for the embossing on the dial. I realize it is subtle but that doesn't take away from the fact that it is still there. For 100-113K I would probably pay up and go for a 5070P or 5970R. Congrats to those in advance who will be getting them. Looking forward to some Incomings from our TRF Members

I picked wait and see but I doubt my thoughts on the engraving will improve. I would not own diamonds in any case but I guess they aren't in your face.

I think the 5711p is stunning. I would rather the 40th text be on a full platinum case back, but it's fine as it is, too. YMMV.

I didn't realise allocations had already been communicated to collectors - I am waiting on the 5711P but am still awaiting an update from my AD.

Got my email 2 hours ago....it could of course mean you have a chance and they are mulling it over whereas I was so obviously unsuitable that the decision iwas easy, decisive and that there wasnt any point in seeing if there were any cancellations before sending the "we are sorry" email. It was kind offering me the left overs though

I think they are very cool ...........now would choose them over other options at the same price range ?
HELL NO, they are very nice but not nice enough to bump a 5070P for example,
imho

The writing still doesn't do it for me and I am not a fan of that chrono, I am disappointed in the selection for this anniversary.

Perhaps because not everybody has the same tastes and preferences in watches?

Speaking for myself, I am not forbiding anybody to like them or buy them, I will not be allocated one and will never own one so all I have left is my personal opinion to state since it was asked so kindly.

This is the third poll on the 40th Carl, hence my comment earlier.

Can take photos from all angles trying to hide the embossing (which is what these photos above do), but it's there. Period.

For me that's all I care about (diamonds not wild about) but the embossing, no way.

And yes this is forum and your opinion matters (or so I thought)

Nope. And the pics here are somewhat deceiving as the exposure is off. The embossing is more pronounced in other pics I've seen.

Diamonds, however discreet they are = NO NO for me though I agree that on some pics where you don't see the embossing the 5711 looks nice, don't think in the sun you won't see it, So sorry but still no. About the big size sorry but I prefer smaller size for the Nautilus, you want bigger? ROO, RM, Pam, and others...

No attempt has been made to hide anything - the photos at the top of this thread are actual shots in real lighting conditions and are a proper indication of the pieces on the wrist. The original studio/computer generated/highly retouched photos are not representative of the dials to the eye. This has been confirmed by everyone who has seen and handled the pieces.

I started this new POLL simply because your poll was based on the unrepresentative photos released by Patek - once you vote you cannot change your mind. The actual real life photos bear no resemblance to the factory shots and as such many Patek lovers do/might now have different thoughts.

I fully understand many including yourself still have reservations and the new photos make no difference to your thoughts but nevertheless the real life photos are so different as to render your poll unrepresentative.
