Icon5 Black Mirror Season 3 on Netflix

Anyone seen this yet? We just did all the episodes this week. An excellent season, more consistent than One and Two, I thought. Not sure which was my favourite episode. Possibly Shut Up and Dance, for action, thought provocation and a good final twist.

I just copied this from the internet, sorry to be lazy.

Featuring stand-alone dramas -- sharp, suspenseful, satirical tales that explore techno-paranoia -- "Black Mirror" is a contemporary reworking of "The Twilight Zone" with stories that tap into the collective unease about the modern world. Each story features its own cast of unique characters...

Absolutely love it, fascinating vision.

Especially liked "man against fire" in season 3.

For those that don't know, my best description would be, the black mirror captures the magic of the twilight zone.

Ps I wrote my post prior to reading Adams quote above also comparing it the twilight zone.

I have seen season 1 and 2, and the first 3 episodes of 3. This show lingers in my mind for hours and even days after I watch it. It is fascinating and entertaining, but at the same time makes me uncomfortable.

Same here. It's too thought provoking for a binge session. One per day is about my limit.

I'm a big fan, 5 episodes in to Season 3. If you have an interest in tech's ultimate influence on society, this is the series for you. Like a modern day Twilight Zone, with each episode standing separate from the others. Really stays with you. Not a series to "binge" watch--too thought provoking. Try "The Entire History of You".

Edit--Adam posted my thoughts exactly as I was typing this.

Best new show I have come across. I find it incredibly refreshing and creative, especially when compared to all of the other garbage out there. I am thoroughly impressed by black mirror and highly recommend it to everyone!!

It's in 4K, I think I'll give it a look.

Thanks

So it appears that they only have just 3 episodes for season 1?

Hmm, guess I expected a bit more. Just not as many as there would be say for a regular TV show.

Maybe they didn't believe in the project when they first created Or budget or creators availability...?

I'm happy that season 3 offered 6 episodes and Im looking forward to more down the road.

One of the more interesting shows I have seen.

Started watching it yesterday, got through the first two episodes of season 1. Really interesting, but have a question re fifteen million merits. It is a challenging vision of the society we already have and how it could easily deteriorate further, but I was wondering how the people got in to the show in the first place? Maybe I missed that bit. Any thoughts welcome.

That's the only episode of the three series that I didn't finish. The one after that is really intense, though.

Seen it a while ago but thought it was voluntary to break the monotony of the life they were trapped in and a chance to elevate social status.

It started off as a BBC "series" on BBC 4--those were the first 7 episodes. Netflix now has production rights, which brought this current 6. Another 6 episodes are contracted, dropping sometime in 2017. Robert Downey, Jr. has held the movie rights to one of the episodes since 2011, but hasn't done anything with them to date.

Ah, thanks Daniel. Certainly explains the transition from the from the U.K actors and locations to the US actors I noticed taking place.

I think that is as good an explanation as there is, and reinforces the message of the programme

I really like it.

As someone said earlier, it's like a modern day twilight zone, but with tech being a major thematic element.
