One year ago in Japan....

I saw a 5712 Tiffany stamped Nautilus for $65k at a grey. I passed.

This week I may actually buy a Code 11.59: https://www.rolexforums.com/showthread.php?t=679901

Now, who thinks I should walk off a bridge....after the trolls eat my hands and legs

The 5712 is busy enough without the extra script so that is a fair enough pass, Code is obviously controversial, but you should always walk your own road, as you are doing, just don't end it off a bridge.

You didn’t have to be in Japan we all passed on lots of stuff that’s doubled or tripled in value!

I don’t think I know of anyone with a code so that would def be interesting

Jin... if the Code 11:59 gets you a CE PC then ok but you have a 15202ST and had the 15407 so not sure what buying it gets You. The rest of their catalog is lacking IMO and watches on leather as of late have little to no demand. Just my 2cents Bro

Agreed, as long as you like it. Who knows- it could he tomorrow’s hot thing.

Just be prepared- there’s that possibly of a dial redesign, and you’d have a V1 substantially different from future models.

All this speculation and what ifs/regrets... What does it really matter if you never sell the watch and buy keepers? I think this should really be the goal.

It's been a tough journey with dress watches for me. I enjoy them but they've always been so subdued. the Patek 3970 is pretty much the only "dress watch" that's really stuck over the years. Wearing the Chronometre Bleu, trying various Langes, Pateks etc and I got easily bored and ended up flipping 5153R, 5130R etc.

I really didn't want to like the Code 11.59 - it was the last thing I thought I would buy after the PR disaster and the watches are really not photogenic (I think its the special sapphire glass). I wore it and spoke a good game with the main intention of building a relationship at my first AP boutique visit. Strapped to my wrist I was talking with the SA for a while with the initial intent of just chatting. Guess what...it sang to me - trust me I had been hating on it since the release. Kept staring down at it and it is very ergonomic and distinctive in side profile.

Will make a final decision but they are bringing in the WG 3 hander on Thursday and I'll try it out. I think its between that and the Rose gold black face 3 hander for me. The WG blue chrono was nice but a bit too busy for me. Also dumping $43k instead of $26k is a bit on the high side.

Tiffany stamp is so over rated.....go to your own dealer and ask them to stamp it as i guarantee you that will be even rarer!! However the 5712 will hold value better than the aP

I pass on twice a 5711A at retail ready for immediate purchase. Life is too short to dwell on pass regrets. Buy what you really like
