Cleaner fluid

I did a search but couldn't find any answers. Please can someone one tell me a cleaning solution for my watch? I just use shampoo once in a while.

I prefer either jet fuel or Ethanol, mixed w/ a 5th of Hydrochloric acid and a few drops of Botswana Yohimbe pine tree sap! But when I can't pull that concoction together, I settle for a typical bar of bath soap and an old tooth brush!

Liquid soap (I use J&J Baby Shampoo) and a soft-bristle toothbrush with warm water....job done!

Dawn dish detergent is one of the best on the market. If people across the globe can use it to wash crude oil off birds and baby seals, it's good enough for your watch.

No problem. Sometimes, different brands/products aren't as readily available globally. Is Dawn something that you can get in England?

Just googled it and it's part of the Proctor and Gamble family. Same manufacturers of Dawn. It's probably the same thing. AmazonUK at one time carried Dawn. I wouldn't recommend using any type of bar soap. Most of that is made from cocoyl isethionate or lauryl isethionate. Both leave a residue that could help trap dirt on your watch in in between the links.

The wrist clean stuff is good, albeit pricey. Plain old soap and water does fine.

I keep an infant tooth brush handy for the super soft bristles, and I use no-fragrance, no-dye hand soap.

If you're a car guy, odds are you have some extra Blinker Fluid on-hand and that works great.

If no Blinker Fluid, then Tears Of Unicorn works but it really is kinda weak and mainly for women's timepieces.

Liquid hand soap and warm water.
If you're brave enough then steal one of your wife's small makeup brushes. One of the good ones as they are made with Sable hair and don't scratch the gold.
You can imagine what I went without for 3 weeks after I was caught using one of SWMBO's brushes, but it's worth it.

I use soap in the shower but use Veraet /Wristclean for that extra shine whenever I remember, order it from the US. Or lens wipes.

new owner of a SubND, and I ordered some Veraet and was pleased. The website feels a bit too much like hokey, late-night "As seen on TV" QVC-style products...that being said, I was pleasantly surprised by the results. I mean...the watch was already pretty clean...but the stuff was terrific. Now using it on my other stainless steel watches.

Weaker cleaner for women's timepieces? pffft.... You would be surprised, with all the lotions etc. that ladies put on their skin, a WAY STRONGER cleaner is required to really clean those timepieces.

For men, all a cleaner needs to clean off watch is some dust and dried up sweat... ok, if you are like me and work on your cars with your rolex on, some occasional engine oil and grime too.

I have seen very good results cleaning my watches with dishwashing soap. Doesn't leave any residue behind on your wine glasses or stainless steel forks and knives... why wouldn't be a good choice for your watch?

How's this work? Apply a little Yohimbe sap with a toothbrush, get it into the links then realize your mistake and take a shot of Swing!
