Rolex model year (series)

When does the new model year begin for Rolex. Last year I beleive it was Z. This year the series model is M. What will the next series be?

I believe it's random, so no telling what's next. I don't expect a new letter to come out for a while though.

As stated, there does not seem to be any consistency in the serial letters. Only Rolex knows what letter will be next and when.

For a period, though, there did seem to be some consistency in the letters, building the word "R(o)LEX":

R 1987
L 1988
E 1990
X 1991

There is no "model year" for releases and most letter prefixes are used from as little as 2 years and some much longer (A and P 1997-2000). They have almost always had at least two letters released at once and sometimes as many as 4 (1997-2003, U, A, P and K)

The current releases are Z and M.

The letters left are B, G, H, I, J, Q, and V..... I'll bet it is one of those next..
