Long time lurker coming out of the shadows
Hi everyone! I signed up for the forum a long time ago and decided to finally join in on the fun. I've always had a love for watches but I've only recently fallen for Rolex. I would probably call it stubbornness on my part because I never wanted to be the "Rolex guy" when I was younger. The watches I owned were larger, more trendy models, i.e. an Omega 45.5 PO, and a Panerai 111. I've discovered that I stopped wearing my "nice" watches lately because they were so large and cumbersome. Now I recognize some people love larger watches, but I'm finding they're just not for me.
I think what Rolex has achieved, IMO, is the balance of size and presence. They are just the right size, and comfortable on the wrist. They almost feel like an extension of your arm. So, now I'm looking into the Sub-C, the Polar Explorer, and the GMT II. I'm Favoring the Sub-C, but I'm wondering if it is too common. I'd like something unique, but I think the Sub is perfection. Anyway, thanks for all the great reading material/info on this forum, and I hope to become a Rolex owner sooner than later!. -Tom |
