Treated myself...
My one other thread on here was asking what to do about my battered Lady Datejust and I'm pleased to say that I was able to send it off to Rolex's London service centre for a full overhaul. It's having a new crystal, crown and bracelet because it was in such a state but they, and the Liverpool branch of David M Robinson Jewellers, have been fantastic.
However, I've been pining for my Rolex, my old Seiko kinetic just doesn't cut the mustard - for one thing it's so light, it feels wrong on my wrist. So ..... I've treated myself to something I've fancied for a while. Meet my new baby, 2008 bi-metal blue Submariner with champagne serti dial. I know it's a bit on the big size for a woman but at 5'10" I'm not exactly a fragile little blossom and it doesn't look too large on my wrist. It's not perfect, could do with a new bezel which I will sort out when I get it serviced, but is otherwise immaculate and I'm very pleased with it. This comes one week after my husband added a new Deep Sea (standard black) to his stainless & white Daytona. This is becoming a bit of an expensive habit! Now need another watch winder though... order already placed for a 4 watch Wolf! |

Beautiful Carina! I love the larger watches and do not consider them a fad. I am somewhat petite but wear a GMTIIc and DJ36 and next purchase will be a Subc or 40mm YM.
I love guys on the forum because they always encourage you to buy what you love. |

Thanks for the positive comments guys (and girls!). It took a final push from my husband to go for it. It came from the States as I couldn't find a late model SEL version with box & papers in the UK, and my dithering together with Donald Trump's effect on the £/$ exchange rate saved me over £20
